The title of this post suggests that you’re about to see a load of limited edition makeup from the Spring 2021 collections: not too. Including the season and the year at the end of the title is just a method of me giving some sort of “time stamp” to some feature that I’d like to repeat throughout the year. I could have put the month at the end, but I’m a realist: there’s not a way that a) I’ll update my makeup bag that frequently or b) manage to film a makeup video once a month. Not at the moment, at any rate…
So, what is in my makeup bag this very fine Spring in 2021? You’ll be pleased to know that there’s not a pastel eyeshadow in sight, and I haven’t eschewed bronzer for some crazy “Aunt Sally” blush-fest. Instead, there’s a fast and easy BB cream (Clarins, I reviewed it here and am still relying on it for long-lasting coverage along with a low-key glow), a foolproof concealer (Bourjois Blur The Lines) and a very slim and lightweight eyeshadow palette from Smashbox that has all the shades I need for any reasonably smouldery eye look.
New finds range from the Invisible Bronze bronzer from bareMinerals and the Lip Cheat lipliner from Charlotte Tilbury. Nothing particularly exceptional about the lipliner per se, more that I am bothering to line my lips to begin with. I’ve taken the plunge, in an attempt to re-define my lips making them look plumper, and actually it has been rather revolutionary – my lipstick looks better and my lips look fuller without resorting to any complicated makeup wizardry. Or cosmetic surgery. Which is a bonus, what with my low-maintenance attitude towards beauty. (And fear of hospitals, needles, procedures-gone-wrong, etc.)
On with the video – there’s a little guest appearance within the first part, which couldn’t be helped. Newborns, eh?! You will find a full product list further on on the next paragraphs, beneath the screen.
