On April 28, 2021 aBlogtoWatch invited dozens of guests to visit the new Panerai brand boutique found at the South Coast Plaza shopping center in Costa Mesa. The prestigious shopping destination is probably the finest in the region and is home to many of the world's most popular high-end watch brands, including Panerai. Guests were happy to be present for the first public unveiling of the new for 2021 Panerai Luminor Base Logo collection, which is a modern recreation of the original Panerai collection debuted by retired Panerai CEO Angelo Bonati. The Luminor Base Logo collection faithfully brings Mr. Bonati's legacy full circle, and now includes an in-house manually wound Panerai movement.
aBlogtoWatch's guests came wearing their utmost Panerai timepieces as well as other timepieces all around the Southern California region. aBlogtoWatch personally wishes to thank the many valued community members in Southern California who brought their taste, personalities, and passion for watches together together with Panerai. Equipped with the hand-wound P.5000 calibre with an eight-day power reserve, the new Luminor watch features an engraving from the famous Italian frogmen straddled on a submersible torpedo. From time to time, technical developments pose a menace to this current market, leading to actual revolutions. The fascination of a mechanical watch has a distinctive added value, by an enthusiast’s point of view it’s irreplaceable.” Bonati doesn’t have the brand is jeopardized by inventions like smart watches. “I believe the single point in common between luxury watchmaking as well as the Apple Watch is your wrist. Mechanical watches are filled with passion, emotion, history and tradition — a world of values that technology can’t replace.”
