Other than being a bit of a nightmare to photograph when fully extended (a priority I can’t imagine tops their email list of many people…) the IT Cosmetics IT Girl Beauty Book is, I feel, about as close as you can get to to be the perfect palette. Not only is it solid and really well-made, it contains some everything that you might need to perfect, enhance, touch-up and improve, which comes housed in a perfectly-sized, very travel-friendly folding book with a decent mirror, making it the best thing for ever for those of us who get around – if you’re somebody that travels lots and drags a bag of beauty wherever you go, then the IT Cosmetics IT Girl Beauty Book is here to save the day.
The IT Cosmetics IT Girl Beauty Book seems to be something IT regularly release around this time of the year, presumably because it’s such a fantastic idea for a Christmas gift. I don’t determine if there have been more than two so far, but I have the 2021 edition in addition to this 2021 edition. I adore my 2021 book because I feel like it puts the magic back to make-up – you know when you were a child and you fantasised about doing your make-up? This palette is when I imagined it would be – all you need in one place, providing lots of joy inside a practical format.
The IT Cosmetics Limited Edition IT Girl Beauty Book starts off with the base page, and on here there is also a trio of Bye Bye Under Eye Concealing Pots – Fair – light, Medium – Tan and Tan – Rich – accompanied by two decent sized powders: the cult Bye Bye Pores Pressed and Bye Bye Pores Bronzer in shade Beach. The middle page contains your lips and colour products, starting at the very top with the Ombre Radiance Blush in shade Bubbly, then three Blurred Lines Lipsticks in shades Adorn, Je Ne Sais Quoi and Thrill. The final product around the middle page is a cream highlighter within the shade Aglow. The QVC site describes it as the Hello Light Powder, but you’re actually getting a cream product instead, unlike this past year which did contain a powder.
The final page is my favourite, because it’s all about the eyes; I’ve been saying for years that IT Cosmetics do the best eyeshadow formula and that is still very much the case. The top product is the Superhero Eye Foundation (an excellent eye base) in shade Cashmere, then you get nine eyeshadows in shades (top left to bottom right) Beam, Glimmer, Sparkler, Dash, Glint, Wink, Ember, All Heart and Flicker. The final two products are the Superhero Liner in powder form (I'm wondering how it would work at a tightliner? One to try!) and the Brow Power Powder in Universal Taupe. The first page both in 2021 and 2021 are the same and the second pages offer a similar experience, with the main difference being the slight variance in shades from the lip and cheek products and also the different highlighter. Both years gave us the same liner, brow and eye base products, however the eyeshadows are a completely different mix – I personally prefer the 2021 shades – the 2021 were gorgeous mauvey, but the 2021 are a lot more taupe – although interestingly, All Heart from this past year was matte, whereas this year it’s a sparkler!
The IT Cosmetics Limited Edition IT Girl Beauty Book 2021 is really a QVC UK exclusive and if you fancy it, don't waver, as even though this is a Christmas release, it was gone quite a while before Christmas this past year and I believe that once they’re gone, they’re gone! It’s currently lb49.98 plus lb1.95 P+P. Handily, it’s available on 2 Easy Pays for lb24.99 each.
